«Surviving Pages of History»: Readings dedicated to Vasily Kondaraki were held in Aqmescit

He went down in history as the author of the unique «Universal Description of Crimea» in 17 parts, published in 1875. He also wrote «Textbook for Primary Self-Education», «Self-study Guide to the Turkic-Tatar and Modern Greek Languages» and much more. The I. Gasprinsky Library hosted an event dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the local history scholar, ethnographer, traveler Vasily Kondaraki – «Surviving Pages of History». The guests of the event touched upon the topics of the Crimean Tatar language in the works of the historian, the transformation of family values in the historical context and the legend of Kondaraki through the prism of the history of the Crimean Tatar people.
