Several Generations of Crimean Tatars Gather in Buyuk-Muskomya

The village of Buyuk-Muskomya (Shirokoye) in Balaklava district was predominantly Crimean Tatar before the deportation. About 240 families lived here, with a mosque and primary school. Today, only 12 Crimean Tatar families remain, while descendants of the village’s former residents live across Crimea. Yet every summer, they return to their ancestral home.
