Ismail-Bey Settlement Turns 35!

One of the first Crimean Tatar residential areas formed during the mass return of Crimean Tatars to their homeland, Ismail-Bey settlement in Kezlev celebrates its 35th anniversary. Back in August 1990, only tents stood on this wasteland without electricity or water. Today it’s a large neighborhood housing about 8,000 people, with its own mosque, school, roads and lighting. But only the Crimean Tatars who became Ismail-Bey’s pioneers know the price they paid for their homeland.
