In Koktaş, Prayers Held for Those Who Build Mosques

A new annual tradition has appeared in the village of Koktaş (Sinekamenka): on the second Friday of April, a communal duva (supplication) will be held on the grounds of the local mosque. This prayer is a tribute to the memory of our deceased ancestors and a petition for well-being for the living. A special place in the prayers is dedicated to those through whose efforts mosques are being built and revived across the entire peninsula today. Qarasuvbazar is currently experiencing a true flourishing of mosque and iftarhane construction, made possible by the unity of the people and the generosity of sponsors.
