A new memorial date has been established in Crimea. December 13 will be observed as the Day of Remembrance for the Inhabitants of Villages Burned and Destroyed During the Years of Nazi Occupation of Crimea. During World War II, approximately 150 settlements were destroyed on the peninsula, and thousands of civilians were killed.
