In Crimea, the season of koydeshler koryushyuvleri — gatherings of fellow villagers — has begun. It was opened by former residents of the vanished village of Cherkez-Kermen (Krepkoye) in Bakhchisaray District. The most beautiful village, located in a winding gorge, became deserted after the deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944. Collective farmers from different regions of the Union were resettled here, but the village fell into decline. By the 1970s, Cherkez-Kermen was destroyed.
