The Soul of Uskut – A Preserved Mosque from 1825

The 1825 mosque in Uskut (Privetnoye) is not just an architectural monument, it is living history. Remembering the prayers of the elders even before the deportation, it withstood the darkest times when its minaret was destroyed. The return to the homeland marked the beginning of a new chapter: the youth and the elderly, shoulder to shoulder, cleared the shrine to once again hear the words of prayer here. Thanks to the support of Rustem Gafarov in 2008, the mosque was reconstructed and the minaret was restored. Unique inscriptions on the walls, preserved against all odds, are now seen by new generations of Uskut residents.
