At the entrance to Hansaray the Orta-Jami mosque meets you — one of the attractions of Bakhchisaray. The first mention of it dates back to the 17th century. Orta-Jami was considered the main Friday mosque of the Crimean Khanate. In Soviet times, a house of culture and a cinema were located here. But after the return of the Crimean Tatars to their homeland, the mosque was returned to the Muslims. It was renovated and reopened in 2013.
