«Haji-Memet» — one of the oldest mosques in Crimea

The mosque «Haji-Memet» was built in 1765 in the village of Kapsikhor (Morskoye) near Sudak. It has experienced a variety of historical events. The Mosque continuously functioned for over a century and a half — until 1932. During the Soviet rule the building was used as a library, club, bar, warehouse and stores. For the Crimean Tatars of Kapsichor, the mosque is especially valuable, as it preserves the memory and history of their ancestors. Today, Friday prayers and festive events for the residents of Kapsikhor are held here
