Before the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people, two mosques functioned in the picturesque village of Ai-Serez (Mezhdurechye). One of them is Yukary Cami (Upper Mosque) with a 300-year history. With the advent of Soviet power, the mosque was used as a club. In 2015, local Muslims began restoration work and added the mosque features of the Crimean Tatar traditional architecture. Today it hosts holiday and Friday prayers.
