The official opening of the Grand Mosque took place in Algeria with the participation of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, members of the government of the republic, and theologians from different parts of the Muslim world. The shrine, covering an area of more than 27 hectares, has become one of the most grandiose religious buildings. Now it is the largest in Africa and the third largest in the world after the mosques in Mecca and Medina.
