The unfading beauty of Arpat

On the southern coast of Crimea near Alushta there is a secluded, picturesque village Arpat (Zelenogorye). Before the deportation Arpat was inhabited mostly by Crimean Tatars and was famous for its lush gardens. But today little is left of its former appearance: only a few old Crimean Tatar houses, a half-destroyed mosque, and a school. The only thing that pleases the eye is surprisingly beautiful nature.
