Pink lakes of Crimea are very popular. But there are other reservoirs of unusual color on the peninsula. One of them is the salt lake called Ass or Krasnoe in Krasnoperekopsk, in the north of Crimea. Some part of the lake, indeed, is painted in red shades, but its other part is bright turquoise. This is due to the fact that local chemical have been draining off waste into the lake for many years.
