Remains of ancient settlements have been preserved in many regions of Crimea. One of these is Kermen-Kyr, a Scythian settlement located under Aqmescit in the village of Sarayli-Kiyat (Mirnoye). It was once a developed settlement at the intersection of several important trade routes.
