On the site of the modern village of Ak-Mechit (Chernomorskoye),an ancient Greek city Kalos Limen used to be located. It existed from the 4th century BC till the 1st century AC. The name of the city is translated from ancient Greek as «beautiful harbor.» Only separate buildings of the city have survived to this day; the national park with the same name is located there.
