The Soviet Union enforced the collectivization of its agricultural sector in 1928-1940.The policy aimed to consolidate individual landholdings and labour into collective farms. Some people stood against the collectivization. Mass rallies arranged all over the country were dispersed. One of the rallies was arranged in Uskut village. 42 protesters were shot down.
