Mengli Geray I is one of the most prominent representatives of the Geray dynasty. He continued the politics of his father, Haji Giray, who strove for independence from the Golden Horde. Mengli Geray I went down in history as the khan who defeated the Horde. In the Crimean Tatar library named after Gasprinskiy opened the exhibition «Tarikhteki izler» («Trace in the centuries»), dedicated to the 575th anniversary of Mengli Geray I and the 520th anniversary of the founding of Zyndzhyrly madrasah.
