The Sudak neighborhood of Achiklar is known among tourists for its affordable seaside accommodations and among locals for its Crimean Tatar street names. Residents say this area was once home to artisan quarters. After their return to Crimea, Crimean Tatars reflected the neighborhood’s history in street names like Furundjilar, Kuyumdjilar, Kavedjilar, and Degirmendjilar. But in recent years, as land plots undergo legalization, these names are being translated into Russian.
