Bosniaks are the South Slavic people practicing Islam. Bosniaks live mainly in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were formed as a result of the conversion to Islam of the southern Slavs — mainly Serbs and Croats. The total number of Bosniaks is about 3 million people.
