At the end of 2023, local residents of the village of Sarabuz (Gvardeyskoye) turned to sculptor Aider Aliyev with a request to make a monument to the victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944 for the 80th anniversary of the tragedy. Funds for the monument are raised by local activists through open fundraiser, in which anyone can participate. Work on the monument is nearing completion.
