The lack of precipitation on the peninsula has led to rivers drying up. According to the Crimean Hydrometeorological Center, no rainfall was observed in August in the lower basins of the Alma, Kacha, Belbek, and Chorguna rivers. Other rivers received only 2-49% of their normal water levels.
