Simferopol councillors approved the installation of a monument to the pilot Amet-Khan Sultan in the square between Pionersky Lane and Kirov Avenue. The decision was made at the next session of the City Council. The monument will be created by the project of a sculptor Ayder Aliyev. The situation with the installation of the monument to the pilot caused a public outcry. Initially, the site in the center of the square named after Amet-Khan Sultan was chosen as the installation place of the monument. Last year, authorities announced a new location for the monument, causing public outrage.
Now officially the monument to Amet Khan Sultan in Simferopol will not be installed in the city
