About 0.3% of the Romanian population is Muslim. Ethnically, most of them are Crimean Tatars, whose ancestors emigrated from Crimea in past centuries. There are about 80 mosques in Romania, and Muslims here have been given great opportunities to follow their religion, preserve traditions and customs.
