Merhamet Settlement in Akmesjit Marks 35th Anniversary

During the mass return of the Crimean Tatar people to their homeland, the Merhamet settlement emerged on the outskirts of Akmesjit, in the area of Marshal Zhukov Street. In the summer of 1990, tents were set up here for the first time on an empty field, and later the construction of small temporary shelters began, where Crimean Tatars were forced to live without water or electricity. Today, Merhamet is a developed settlement where over 2,000 people live, with its own mosque, kindergarten, roads, and lighting. Residents celebrated its 35th anniversary with a grand concert.
