The Crimean Tatar neighborhoods started appearing in Crimean after the massive return of Crimean Tatars. Many streets in Crimea are named after not only the famous Crimean Tatars. In the Maryino neighborhood near Akmesdzhit (Simferopol) there is Pyotr Grigorenko street. Why did the Crimean Tatars wanted the street named after this person?
