An 85-year-old Murvet Ganiyeva lives in Volzhsk (Mari El). Her family was deported here in 1944, and she was born in Yalta. Murvet-khanim, like almost all Crimean Tatars who came to Mari El, worked in woodworking. She buried her mother in the foreign land, her father died at the front. The house in Yalta, in which she was born, has survived, and Murvet-khanim remained to live far from her homeland.
