Guler Nurislyam does not lose contact with his homeland

Guler Nurislyam’s mother from Izmir Niyar Mamutova was an artist of the pre-war theater in Crimea. During the war, she ended up in a German camp. And after the release, the family settled in Turkey. She was destined to see her homeland again only many years later, in the 90s. The story of Niyar Khanim inspired the famous Turkish writer Serra Menekay to write the novel “Aluştadan esen yeller”, where Niyar Khanim became the prototype of one of the heroines.
