Asan Kadirov was born in the picturesque village of Ay-Serez (Mezhdurechye) in 1939. He was only 5 years old when he, like other Crimean Tatars, was called a betrayer and sent into exile. Despite the fact that he was very young then, Asan-aga remembers those terrible events in detail. As a child, he experienced all the hardships of life in a foreign land. Asan-aga returned to his native Crimea in 1990 and became one of those who literally had to win back his native land.
