Five women participated in the I Kurultai of the Crimean Tatars in 1917. And they were there not only for decoration. Anife Bodaninskaya, Hatice Avdzhi, Ilhamie Tokhtarova, Emine Shabarova and, of course, Shefika Gasprinskaya contributed to the adoption of important reforms for women and significant for the people. The congress approved the equality of men and women, in addition, the Crimean Tatar women were the first in the world to receive the right to vote.
