During excavations of the Opushki burial ground in the Simferopol district of Crimea, elements of horse harness and a belt set, presumably of ancient Turkic origin, were discovered. The artifacts date to the Early Byzantine period (6th-7th centuries AD). The unique find is one of the few relating to Turkic culture of this period.
The find was reported by the director of the Institute of Archaeology of Crimea of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vadim Maiko.
