Theodoro was a small Orthodox principality in medieval Crimea with its capital on Mangup. It occupied the western part of mountainous Crimea and a strip of the southern coast from Balaklava to Alushta. During the rule of Prince Alexios, large-scale construction works began on Mangup, trade developed, and the Principality of Theodoro emerged onto the international stage.
