Today, one of the leaders of the national movement of Crimean Tatars, Yuriy Osmanov, could have turned 80. For the sake of the interests of the people, he sacrificed his career as an inventor, freedom and a quiet life. But if he had a choice, he would hardly have gone the other way. His life ended too soon — Yuriy Osmanov died at the age of 52 after a brutal beating.
