The great humanist and friend of the Crimean Tatars Andrey Sakharov

On this day 32 years ago, December 14, 1989, the Soviet physicist, public figure and human rights activist, friend of the Crimean Tatars, Andrey Sakharov, died. He is called the greatest humanist of the 20th century. As one of the creators of the first Soviet hydrogen bomb, he was among the first to oppose the use and testing of nuclear weapons.
