Thirty-five years ago, in October 1990, one of the longest and most successful urban pickets in the history of the Crimean Tatar people concluded. For six months, our compatriots stood in front of the Alushta City Executive Committee building. Thanks to the firm stance and coordinated work of the picket leaders, this action proceeded peacefully and successfully. Hundreds of families gained the opportunity to live and build a life in their homeland, and most importantly – this picket opened the Southern Coast of Crimea for Crimean Tatars.
