Rauf Parvi was One of the First to Write About the Crimean Tatar People

«Crimea exists, but Crimeans do not.» In the 1960s, when the national movement of the Crimean Tatars was just gaining momentum, the famous Uzbek poet Rauf Parfi wrote a series of works titled «Qirim Hayollari» («Crimean Dreams»), which told of the tragedy of the Crimean Tatars and their struggle to return to their homeland. The poet participated in rallies, signed appeals to the authorities, and was one of the first to support the people in their aspiration to return to Crimea.
