Osman Akchokrakly could read tamgas like an open book: during an ethnographic expedition in 1925, he collected over 400 clan symbols. He also, together with Asan Refatov, prepared the libretto for the first Crimean Tatar opera «Chora Batyr.» He participated in the First Turkological Congress in Baku. Journalist, educator, researcher, politician – Akchokrakly was one of the most intelligent and multifaceted people of his time, but fell victim to Stalinist repressions.
