One of the prominent representatives of the Crimean Tatar diaspora in Romania is the poet and public figure Necip Aci Fazıl. Together with his brother Mustecip Ulkusal, he was one of the founders of the “Emel” magazine – a significant publication of the Crimean Tatar emigration. After World War II, Necip Aci Fazıl sought to help Crimean Tatar immigrants settle in Dobrudja, for which he was arrested and killed in 1948.
