Mefkure Mollova Studied Turkology Despite The Repressions

Mefkure and Riza Mollovs were the founders of the scientific school for the study of Turkish language and culture in Bulgaria, but their work was hindered by repression and the policy of Bulgarianization. Mefkure Mollova’s ancestry comes from Crimea. She is called one of the first women Turkologists. Mollova is the author of about 200 scientific articles on Turkic studies; in addition, she wrote poetry.
