Ilya Gabay — a Jew who became a member of the Crimean Tatar movement

86 years ago, a man, who was destined to become one of the most famous human rights defenders of the Soviet era, was born in Baku. Ilya Gabay devoted his whole life to the fight against injustice. He considered the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people to be one of such injustices.
