Mahmud bin Suleiman Kefewi is a recognized scholar and poet. He was engaged in religious activities in Kefe, Istanbul and Sinop. He initiated the construction of the Kefevi-Cami Mosque in Turkey. He wrote a large religious work in which he described the life of the scholars of the Hanafi madhhab.
