Amet Ozenbashly combined medicine with politics and also advocated for the emancipation of women. One of the organizers of the Kurultai, a writer, publicist, and the first director of the Totaykoy Pedagogical College, Ozenbashly was repressed in the 1930s in the «Milli Firka» case and spent many years imprisoned.
