Bekir Osmanov – A Glorious Son Of The Crimean Tatar People

On this day in 1911 Bekir Osmanov was born. The Germans promised 100 thousand marks for his head. Partisan Bekir Osmanov descended from the mountains to his native village of Ozenbash, and not a single resident gave him away. Before the war, he worked in the Nikitsky Botanical Garden and developed 3 new varieties of pears. And after the deportation in the late 50s. Bekir Osmanov was one of the founders of the Crimean Tatar national movement. He also collected Crimean Tatar folklore and wrote it himself.
