More than two centuries ago, the Crimean Tatar language was studied in France. It was taught at the School of Eastern Languages, which was established in Paris in 1795 by a decision of the parliament of the newly formed French Republic. Today, this institution is known as the National Institute of Eastern Languages and Civilizations. The Crimean Tatar language is no longer taught there, but this fact is mentioned on its website.
