The velvet season in Crimea is in full swing. According to the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea, in September 2020, 40% more people rested in Crimea than in September 2019. Vacationers, as it turned out, are not even stopped by the coronavirus pandemic. But almost 100 years ago, something forced visitors and local residents to leave Crimea.
