One of the most high-profile court cases in the history of the Crimean Tatar national movement was the «Trial of Ten» or «Tashkent Trial,» which took place from July 1 to August 5, 1969. Ten Crimean Tatars were prosecuted for their active work on the Crimean Tatar issue: Aider Bariev, Reshat Bayramov, Riza Umerov, Ridvan Gafarov, Izzet Khairov, Rollan Kadyev, Ismail Yazidzhiyev, Ruslan Eminov, Munire Khalilova, and Svetlana Ametova. All received prison sentences. In 1976, trial materials were published as a separate book in Amsterdam. This report is based on materials from historian Gulnara Bekirova.
