In the Macedonian city of Tetovo there is a famous example of early Ottoman architecture – the Motley Mosque. Sharena Cami stands out among other Ottoman buildings for its appearance. Brightly painted walls are typical of modern Islamic fine art. However, such walls can also be seen in the Motley Mosque, which is about 600 years old.
