Did you know that Khan Qırım Geray (1717 – 1769) was a passionate theatre lover? An educated man with a penchant for the arts, he even enjoyed performances by court artists during military campaigns and took a keen interest in European culture – becoming the first to bring classical theatre to Crimea and lay the foundations for this art form on the peninsula.
