Many historians and travelers who visited Crimea noted the hospitality of our ancestors. In the old days, they loved to welcome guests and engage in conversation, not only with visitors but also with neighbors. This fact is confirmed by the so-called gates – *»qomşu qapu»* (neighbor’s door) – which connected the courtyards of neighboring Crimean Tatars. In the old days, such gates were very common in Crimean cities, especially in Bakhchysarai, Kezlev (Yevpatoria), and Kefe (Feodosia). In Bakhchysarai, for example, through these neighborly gates, one could walk around the entire city without stepping out onto the street. In one courtyard, there was not just one, but several *»qomşu qapu.»*
