During the period of the Crimean Khanate, the lunar calendar was used on the peninsula. Many historical monuments have survived with dates according to the Hijra. By the 19th century, two dating systems began to be used. And in 1918, the Islamic calendar was completely replaced by the Gregorian calendar.
