At the end of the XIX century in Crimea, an education reform was implemented — new-method schools replaces old-method schools. An enlightener Ismail Gasprinskiy made a huge contribution to this. In January 1884, the first new-method school was opened in Bakhchisaray. There, students could learn not only reading religious texts, but also writing, study arithmetic, geography, and history.
